Colt’s success is due to its people, and as such is committed to developing and nurturing the next generation of Colt People.
As part of this investment in the future of its industry, Colt is delighted to welcome two new Trainee Sales Graduates, Tom Olby and Abi Roberts, to the team.
Tom Olby
Having left Chichester University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree and keen to build a career within the construction industry, Tom attended a recruitment sales assessment day where he was shortlisted in the top 10 of over 60 attendees. Tom was subsequently recommended to Colt for the new Graduate Sales role.
Before taking on a sales area, Tom is spending his time shadowing other members of staff in various departments, assisting in various projects to gain valuable knowledge and experience
Tom is thoroughly enjoying this initial training stage, saying “I am being consistently challenged to come up with solutions to problems on a variety of projects and am taking advantage of learning from the more experienced members who are willing to help and guide me. I look forward to building a career at Colt, learning from the best and developing my own set of expert skills”
In his spare time, Tom spends his time socialising with friends and family and is a keen football player.
Abi Roberts
Abi completed her undergraduate degree in BA Geography at the University of Manchester, continuing to complete a Masters in Environmental Governance, receiving commendation for her thesis examining the effectiveness of ISO14001 as a governing tool for regulating commercial contributions to climate change.
Due to Abi’s interest in the environmental sector, she was a perfect choice for Colt’s natural ventilation team. In this role, Abi will be working with both architects and engineers to find solutions regarding how best to naturally ventilate a room or building, whilst taking into account many additional environmental and aesthetic factors.
Abi said of Colt, “Colt is a leader in its industry, which I believe is the best platform to begin my career. I will be learning from some of the very best in the industry, whilst also being able to apply my environmental interests to help shape how Colt can continue to innovate and educate".
In in her spare time, Abi likes to travel and explore new places, recently visiting Cuba, India and Colombia. Abi also enjoys modern art and visits art galleries when she has the time.
